Bye Bye Melancholy!

I have a big circle of friends. Friends from every walk of life - lawyer, doctor, C.A, architect, engineer, teacher, homemaker, designer, MBA, artist, singer, dancer & the list goes on.....
For a woman - she has to manage many roles - And I am not being sexist or feminist here - No!
But from morning till the day ends - she is not just the above mentioned somebody, but, she is a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a cleaner, a sweeper, a helper, a counsellor, a cook, friend, philosopher, guide, so on & so forth....

Managing all these roles is a HUGE task! If she fails being one, she starts feeling guilty. If she excels in one & is really bad at other - the more the anxiety - All this leads to Depression. Yah! Melancholy, Misery, Woe, Dejection, Downheartedness, Pessimism, Moodiness...you can call it by any name. But all this affects her terribly. She starts feeling awful, execrable about herself, her weaknesses.

It is easier to say 'my tooth is aching', 'my leg is paining'...but how do you tell someone 'my heart is broken', 'I have mental pain', 'my mind is upset'?....... Its like feeling scared and tired at the same time. She starts feeling no urge to be productive, she wants to be with friends but doesnt want to socialise, she wants to be alone but not lonely. This pain is paralysingly numb!

No one wants to be in dark, in a tunnel which has no light at its end, on a road which has no sign board sayin ' Destination arrived'. Nobody wants sleepless nights & grumpy mornings.

Having said it all, whats the solution? The Key lies in endurance!  Dont control your thoughts - speak them out - goto your friends, loved ones & TALK! Tell your mind, your heart - YOU are Ok, You will be better & better - Dont symphatise with yourself.

The grief is a passage not a place to stay. Its not a sign of weakness, nor lack of faith. When you are battling with your own mind day in and day out - Ah! Mind you, you are a Warrior dear!

They say Antidote to depression is gratitude. Show appreciation towards your life. Thank god for gifting you many qualities - what if you aint good at some! Recognise your strengths and work on them. STOP feeling guilty about whats not in your hands. Indulge in activities which make you feel fresh, rejuvinated. Dance, sing, write, compose, plant, bake, play. Uplift your mood. Dont embrace the Dark. Appreciate the Light. Stars are waiting to shine for sure.
Woman, you are Stronger than you think, Have Faith & Lead On!!
