Turning back time - Part 2.

  The next stop was the picture tube Television set, placed in a corner with people sitting around, watching it. This huge rectangular box came with an antenna that was supposed to be installed in your balcony or terrace....commentary commenced. Television brought the family together after dinners. Family members used to watch the serials together after finishing their chores for the day. The content that was displayed was healthy and mostly fit for all age groups. Serials of different genre, Family story like 'Hum Log', comedy  ones like 'Wagle ki Duniya', cartoons on Sundays, 'Ramayan', 'Mahabharat', and list of other TV programs were played.  It was a means for entertainment and family time. Unlike nowadays, the smart TV sets with OTTs providing so much of unnecessary information to kids. It cocoons members with their own devices, to watch what they want exclusively. Turning back time - Part 1.

  I was sitting in a ride with my kids, in an amusement park. This ride took us through a zoo, where we could see animals from a far while there was a running commentary going on to tell us more about the animal we were watching. I loved this concept. "It would be awesome if we could have an amusement park where they would take us to old days", a thought struck my mind. I keep on telling my kids, stories of my childhood. But if they get to take a ride through those experiences, How wonderful it could be! And in my mind I hoped onto the excursion. The first scene was a Telephone booth. People queued up outside this dandy spot, just like a famous restaurant. The commentary went something like this......This glass enclosure, where your conversation was partially audible to the audience outside, yet giving you the cozy feeling of your tete-a-tete, keeping it secret enough. This cool invention was a blessing for loved one's, miles apart, to communicate and remain fervid. Shari...
