Perfect family is a myth!

Image
Perfect family is a myth.... When the members laugh and giggle, They share the stories of their success and struggle, When kids in the house smile as they play, When, together the family eats and prays...... The elders are given respect, Such family has delightful prospect, Grand kids listen to tales from grandparents, Lullabies are sung, every night, inherent..... Happy faces are seen in imperfect frameworks, Holding onto each other tightly, gains some perks, Mistakes are meant to happen but everyone owns them, Not blaming each other and causing mayhem..... Can you help me? Isn't a strange question to ask, Nor is it inferior to seek help to complete task, Together, is how people are bound, Close knit, is best fit that sounds..... Family gets together for photographs, once in a while, There's chaos to line up and smile, Who stands where? And who sits next to whom, Total mess it is, but a piece of heirloom...... Traditions are carried forward, Sometimes willingly, sometimes aw...

Dancing coral leaf...

Autumn is a season of falling leaves. The old leaves set themselves free from the trees. The trees which they had sprout from, they had grown into tender light green and then flourished into lush green. As they grow older and turn coral and then bronze, they know that their time's up. They have to leave to make room for the younger, fresh ones to keep the tree alive. Same is true for us, humans. This life cycle cannot be avoided nor can be skipped. But yet, we keep collecting so much throughout our journey. We fall in love, we make relationships, friendships, we bond and then when it's time to leave, we feel agonised to forsake all that we've experienced. I have penned down one such love story of coral and bronze leaves who know their destiny, yet they become enamoured.... Dancing Coral leaves  - A Coral leaf fell in love with a Bronze one, But the Bronze knew he would've to leave the tree soon, Nonetheless, browny was Coral's perseverance,  She was determined wit...

Brimful shouldn't be void....(Scarcity)

Water they say is in abundance. 70% of earth is made-up of water. Our body has 70% water. Water is life. But will it be the same. Abundance will soon become scarcity, the way water is being wasted. My tiny effort in the form of poetry, to highlight the importance of water conservation. Hope you agree - Water is life, we all know the axiom, But presuming it will be available for eons, Don't make this mistake, dear human, Without water the earth will no longer be heaven.... Water takes the form it flows through, Wears away the stones on the way, is also true, Wasting the flowing water consciously,  Ignoring its significance, incuriously..... There's water logging when it rains cats and dogs, Overflowing gutters, drainages it clogs, Availability of water in plenitude, Shouldn't change our usage attitude..... Rain harvesting, storage of water, In the long run, all this will matter, Drip irrigation, sprinklers, to the aid, Flourishing plants that are well fed..... Close the ta...

Brimful to void....(Abundance)

What is the hardest part of being a mom? Well read somewhere..... "The hardest part of being a mom is the fear of your nest being empty...one day". It really touched my heart. It's an unsaid truth, we will all have to face it, no matter how much we rebuff the fact or procrastinate the thought. As young mothers we receive abundant love from our kids. We love them equally.  But what happens when these birds get wings and they fly away. Abundance and scarcity go hand in hand don't they? I have tried to portray my feelings through this poetry - Getting married to the one you love, No doubt to your life, this joyous moment, you owe, But you disregard the thought that you are flying away, Leaving your parents' nest empty, keeping the sentiment at bay! You happily settle in your new life, You are a dutiful daughter-in-law and a near perfect wife, You paint your colourful dreams, together with your better half, Withstanding ups and downs, hand in glove, you cry and laugh!...
