Domesticated me?

No one notices when you do it, but everyone notices when you dont....Yeah! Its the everyday household chores!
The homemaker does it day in and day out even if shes sick and tired of the mundane job. A man's day 'Off' is actually a day 'Off'....but a woman's day off is, her catching up time, to do these unfinished chores. The overflowing laundry basket, the toys saying 'Eureka' as they fall off the toy-box, the mugs, cups, dishes, spoons, waiting, drenched in liquid soap, to be cleaned. The books scattered on the shelf, the layers of dust, very very adamant on settling down, and not willing to go.

A working woman on the other hand, has some 'me' time, atleast in her office, where she can sip a cup of coffee during her break. She can overlook the mess thats there, away, at her home. No doubt she has to finish her office work and go back to it. Clear her backlog, piled up work, once shes back home.

Sometimes I just feel like keeping things as they are - just let them be! If the item doesnt - smell, catch flies or ants, block my way or space, break easily- then just let it be!๐Ÿ˜‰

The 'daily chores' is a never ending job, a vicious circle. You make beds, wash dishes, clean the furniture, arrange clothes and there you go - you are back at square one- making beds again...and so on...

Yes, we get house help easily these days - unlike our mom's era. But again, if you are not good at delegating work, you end up finding faults - Oh! the corners are dirty, theres dust behind the table, the chairs aint placed properly..etc..etc...And it adds up to your work.

We do these chores - but never get an allowance - we deserve a good vacation for it not just a stupid weekend, right?

Delegating work - Yes! We do teach are daughters the household work but also teach your sons to do these daily chores - it would be a great help for you, and moreover what more a wonderful gift it would be to your future daughter-in-law, than a son who cleans up toilets and does his own laundry!๐Ÿ˜

Another way to get out of this mess once in a while is to sneak out with your friends to ' Wine and Whine'..๐Ÿ˜ƒ...Thats the best rejuvination! Also the appreciation you get when with them will always help you do more that what is expected....it keeps you going...while bringing a smile on your face.... Because in the end we all are sailing in the same boats, right?

So ladies - toss your hair in a bun, drink some coffee, put on some hip-hop music and handle it!.... At the end of the day, your hands-feet would be dirty, your hair would be messy, but you will surely have a sparkle in your eye and satisfaction in your heart!

  2. Lovely. Totally relate to it. I so miss my Tea time in office now that I am a home maker. I connected with few German moms here and you know their story is also the same. Keep up the Good work.
