Gurus of my Life!
Academician, confucius, teacher, instructor, mentor, trainer, tutor, philosopher, guide, moralist, preceptor. A Guru is all of these!
The First Guru of my life is my Mother. She taught me to express, speak, walk, eat, play, study, think and most importantly to "be Me".Thankyou Aai for your interminable efforts you put in me. Along with her my Father, my two Grandfathers ( Paternal-maternal), my two Grandmothers, who guided me all along. They taught me the difference between right and wrong, good and bad. My Father who has a command in Economics, was my Guru who taught me economics lessons, without him I would have flunked the subject. Thankyou Baba for- giving me wings to fly, to choose what I wanted to and to always encourage me!
My younger sister, taught me alot, like, being sincere. I cant forget the Biology lessons that she gave me ( I was really bad at Bio in school!).
All the other elders of my family too have been my Gurus in one way or the other.
My teahers at my school, I respect them all, for moulding me into a person I am. Teaching me the subject knowledge and making me confident to stand out in crowd, orate and address a gathering and yes, dance my heart out!
Oh! I wish I could repay you,
But I really dont know how? Your teaching is precious than any treasure,
That has helped me to grow!
If God gives life to live, Guru gives essence to live life!
As I grew up- my friends from school and later college, were my Gurus. I learnt to value friendship from them. Sharing, caring, helping, giving and momentous of all 'being there', all this and more - I got to assimilate from them. My college professors gave me the in and out understanding of my stream. My tuition teachers have a huge share in making me comprehend all that was needed.
Thankyou! For enriching my life and widening my horizons!
Later on, my husband came into my life. He supports me. He has helped me overcome my encumbrances. He taught me 'how to deal with difficult people', the business intricacies and has given a new perspective of looking at fair-unfair, erring-unerring. My Mother-in-law - my guru for her cooking lessons. I admire the perfection of her recipes. My Father-in-law - who gives me all round - aerial view of things, that helps me take decisions. His experience in business and life in general, is of utmost help for my manoeuvres.
My 'after marriage' friends, keep giving me confidence, advices, new ideas, showing me track to follow when I am confused. All of them are my new age Gurus.
My kids also fall in this category, who introduce me to new concepts that are alien to me. The GenZ and Gen Alpha languages, the decryption of all the memes, technological nuisances and much more....Without you my life would be unexplored!
I am also thankful for all those difficult people in my life, who have enriched my life experiences, taught me - where i went wrong and what not to do!
My life is my Guru too! The lessons it has taught me (and is still teaching) are esteemed and held dear. My joys and sorrows are my mentors. My conscience has been my guiding light.
Today, I bow down to all these Gurus of my life, who lead me from visible to invisible, from material to divine, from ephemeral to eternal. I bow down for being my inspiration and aspiration!
