Mirage!


Travelling in a hot desert....drenched in sweat...scorching sun...unbearable heat... and you see a Mirage! An illusion of water in a desert, an unrealistic hope, a wish that cant be achieved!

Can this mirage be actually achievable? Can we set our dreams depending on a mirage?

Dreams- hopes- wishes- all are based on our perception, also, a Mirage is a perception. If we already are stuck in a desert of ignorance our knowledge would then be just a mirage. If the desert is made of dreams and we still are going towards the mirage of reality - isn't it a pity?

Is it a crime to be happy and excited to run behind a mirage? Can we not just enjoy the journey towards it, even though the destination is a mirage?

We can keep fighting for a dream thats a mirage. We can strive hard to achieve it. Isnt it fun, chasing the unbelievable, sometimes?

Life is all about chances, ifs and buts! Then why not be adventurous, once in a while? Why not take risks to hunt down whats impossible?

I would like to quote a famous author Ray Bradbury here - "Stuff your eyes with wonder, live as if you'd drop dead in ten seconds. See the world. Its more fantastic than any dream made or paid for in factories". Isnt that a beautiful thought, worth going for?

Sometimes given a chance, the Mirage can actually be an Oasis! You are longing for the mirage - you make it possible. Anyway theres this desert all around, then why not seek a mirage to make it look better, make your eyes feel cooler, make your mind happier...why not enjoy the power of imagination?

I agree, that mirage can never quench our thirst. But atleast it can make us search, go out there to dig a well or find a source.

Human desire is illimitable and without end - Pursuing the mirage in the desert, building castles in the air, reaching horizon over the ocean....Lets not breed discontent and despair once we succumb to it. Just have faith and keep going!

You may be heart broken in the end, but isnt life all about trials and errors? Isnt it about the fun in these struggles? Isnt it about having a dream and chasing it? Isnt it about giving your best?

So even if you know deep down in your heart that you are going after a mirage, I am sure that the process, the ups and downs, the failures, the experience would be as enriching. Its not always about success, its also about trying!

    Like you said, “It’s not always about success, it’s also about trying”.. we all need this reminder once in a while.

  And 2024 ends..... What a roller coaster ride!  Every year passes by and the new year comes afore, leaving you with something and making you leave something.  It would be quite odd if time doesn't indoctrinate our minds. Moira : Bound to happen! Chapter - 1.

She was sitting on the bench under the huge tree. Its extensive branches covered few more benches around. The park was a hangout place for teenagers. It was a playground for children and a perfect site for the exercise enthusiasts. People jogged, wearing headphones, determined to shed those extra kilos and be fitter, sticking to their new year resolutions, was a familiar sight here.  Yuga wasn't feeling the vibe today. She had left home as usual, early in the morning, in her tracks and tee to run a few miles, but after three rounds she just sat down on the bench. She saw an old lady taking rounds, walking slowly, but with vigour. The tree was shedding it's aged golden leaves. One such tanned foliole fell beside Yuga on the bench. What's your plan?

 "You've to score good grades at school!" "You've to do your Olympiads!" "You need to have a co-curricular activity or some sports activity!" "You should be able to dance or sing or play a musical instrument!" Oh my my! So much pressure on these little one's learning to adapt and traverse the lanes and by lanes of this complicated world. "But its a rat race! He/she needs to figure it out sooner. Studies, career, universities, the stress builds up as they advance into their grades (classes), isn't it?" Yes, true. It's a tough task for the coming generations. Population is ever increasing. Even though the colleges and courses are increasing in numbers but we have no say on the quality of education they impart. Also the leading universities and colleges are always the first priority, obviously. So the newbies are looked down upon. Also the reservations hinder the paths of many. Well, so what score is a good enough score...
