Men and Women!
The other day I got a call from my Mavshi (Aunt). She likes reading my blogs, she said. But the view she shared with me gave me a different perspective to think. She suggested that I should keep aside my 'woman point of view', my 'effeminate thoughts' and write something that both the sexes can appreciate.
So heres something I came up with today. Hope you readers like it and relate to it, too!
Men are from mars and women from venus! Yes, we all agree. I am taking references from my earlier blogs to see how Mars and Venus are different!
On a relxed day, when its decided to go shopping - A Man would prefer to go gadget shopping. He would love to go to a Croma, or some digital store, a Bose or JBL gallary. He would love checking out the new digital stuff around, test the speakers and amplifiers - what sounds best! But a Woman - her happy feet would take her to a Sephora, a Vero Moda, a Caprese store or a Catwalk. She would love to go to a linking road or a fashion street too!
When it comes to opinions - men always want a clear cut Yes or No. Right boys? While women - they dont want to hear what you (read men) think. They want to hear what they think - in a deeper voice. Right gals?
Speaking of 'me time' - Man (not generalising at all) likes to drink, watch movies, read. He wants to be in his 'man cave'. He may indulge in some sports or exercise. 'Me time' for women means heaven. She would want to boast about it, making most of it!
With kids around - the fathers nowadays - possess a parenting instinct, they aint just a provider or hapless sidekick anymore. Even though this concept is relatively new -now men do help with changing kids diapers or feeding the kids. May be our grandfathers or fathers (in some cases too), were different and not much into all this. But the new age dads are proving to be great babysitters. When we see a man with an infant on a weekday, at the instance we no doubt wonder where the mom is? But then we appreciate 'that' dad's efforts. Woman on the other hand - I dont need to discuss much I guess - its the most natural maternal instinct that shes born with.
Handling daily chores is a difficult task for men. But the way the moms are bringing up their sons these days, boys are equally responsible now. Single men do handle their office work and the kitchen, the laundry and the groceries, efficiently.
I guess the need of the hour and the situation you face automatically moulds you, doesnt matter if you are a woman or man.
I remember someone mentioning this - Men have boxes for everything in their brains. Box for kids, box for cars, box for job, box for money and so on. The boxes absolutely donot touch each other. When a man discusses something he goes to that particular box, pulls it out, opens it, discusses only whats inside that box. Once done, the box is closed and put away without disturbing other boxes. While woman's brain is made up of a big ball of wire. Everything is interconnected. Money to job to kids to food to everything else. Its like an internet driven by the energy called 'emotion'. So when woman discusses something she takes references from everything else combined with emotions.
"Any fool knows men and women think differently at times, but the biggest difference is this - Men forget but never forgive, Women forgive but never forget." - Robert Jordan.
When women are constantly under the pressure of being a weaker sex, being bullied by men; Men are burdened with being masculine all the time - they cannot be weak infront of all neither cry aloud.
Having said all of above, the debate, the differences between men and women will always remain unresolved. And I guess thats the beauty of it too. One fulfills something that other lacks! And the nature gains its balance.
Sharing a quote by Rabindranath Tagore here -
"Men can only think. Women have a way of understanding without thinking. Woman was created out of God's own fancy. Man, He had to hammer into shape."
