Fighting the odds!
Sitting at the bedside of my son, in the hospital, watching him fight his pain after a surgery, I am impelled to think - where did he get this strength from? At this young age! How can he bear the throes? Is he really this strong? Is he doing so to make me feel less wearisome? Or is he a Braveheart?
Yes, I know, he is fighting the odds!
"The greatest pleasure in life is, doing what people say you cannot do" - Walter Bagehot.
Fighting against the odds - you need support - firstly, it's your self confidence and secondly, it's the people around you - who you know, are always there, with you. They say that courage doesn't always roar, sometimes it's the quiet voice at the end of the day, whispering - " I will try again tomorrow. Yes I will fight back!" It always seems impossible until its done, right?
Despite the odds, through thick and thin, from being a disaster, you work to be a master. The waters may be high, there may be hardships, through the winds and tides - it's always a bravest sight - winning against the odds!
My younger son, back at home - without his mom around - also fighting his own little battle against obstacles - doing things on his own - standing high - not letting his mom worry or fall weak. And yes, vanquishing - winning over his fear too!
- How we survive - is what makes us who we are!
Seeing someone struggle but never seeing him quit - that's what is fighting the odds. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going - absolutely!
I came across this new word somewhere - 'hustlepreneur' - I interpret this as - a person who says "here I go" - against the oppression, restrictions and being always told 'No'. He is the one who hustles, fights and navigates himself through - towards his goal.
Always waiting for the odds to be in your favour, wont work. You have to combat, skirmish, you have to disagree, sometimes dispute or quarrel. Who doesn't want to be someone, to whom people look upto and say "because of you, I didn't give up". Fight the odds - be an inspiration.
Always say this to yourself - "Giving up is not an option for me!"
JUI.
