Inability to see a person as more!
"Here's your 500 and your husband's 1000 Rupees", said the supervisor,
She said,"I know I'm not educated enough and you're much wiser",
"But we both did the same work and why am I getting paid less?",
He said, "You are a woman, not very physically strong",
"Don't worry, my math is good, I won't be wrong".......
She silently accepted the biased deed,
At home, she had children to feed,
She had to work, both on the field and home,
While her husband worked sometimes and other times was stoned.....
Her daughter helped with the household chore,
Looking after brother, even if sleepy to the core,
The little girl couldn't be a defiant,
With no one around, who was reliant.....
The woman decided to marry off the daughter,
What if she was small, how does it matter?
There would be one less mouth to feed,
Their life would be easier to lead.....
No school, no education,
Just because you are a woman,
Being poor was an add on curse,
Making things more worse.....
Her brother would grow up and earn,
He should go to school and learn,
He would look after the family better,
It was a burden, having a daughter....
Little girl couldn't help but cry,
Changing their decision, how could she try?
She wanted to study and prosper,
But was left, thus, to suffer....
----------------------‐--------
Getting paid less even though working for same hours,
Differentiating, based on gender, misusing their powers,
The society casually acts in a partial way,
Discriminating against women, even in this day....
Should you just accept what's happening around?
Or should you speak up or make some sound?
Weaker sex, is what they make of us,
"You cannot do this, you cannot do that", making a fuss....
People carelessly take us for granted,
"She isn't capable", we're likeso taunted,
Sometimes it's our own species,
That find faults and act all meanies.....
Wear something sober, don't show skin,
Everyone wants to advice, is rather keen,
Get married on time, don't dilly-dally,
Else would be left alone, finally.....
Try some fairness creams, your skin looks dark,
Oh! Don't hurt your face, it will leave a mark,
Who would marry someone with a scar?
Everybody wishes for milky complexion and glowing star.....
Is expecting equality illicit?
Is this a men's world, explicit?
What if we women want to breathe freely too?
What if we want our dreams to come true?

AUTHOR'S NOTE: There is no greater disability in society, than the inability to see a person as more ~ Robert M Hansel.
Yes, a woman is different from a man but this reason doesn't justify the discrimination against her. There are things that men can do better and there are things that women can. So let's respect each other instead of showing one up.
