Moms are exceptional!

She is a tornedo and at times a cool breeze,

Brimming with a smile, her face is at ease,

Her "It's okay beta!", soothes all the anxieties,

For all occasions  she has emotions and expressions in varieties,

Voice modulations is her bayen haath ka khel,

Right or wrong, unhesitatingly, she will tell,

Her cosy embrace is where I want to endlessly dwelve.....

She is particular about certain things

And for the rest she is totally understanding....

Mom she is, full of love,

To me my comfy cove!

I know, I know, all of you would say that all moms are the same, so what? But it takes patience and endurance for eternity, to be a mom. And my mom isn't an exception.

Cooking for her kids, looking after all their needs, yes, all that she has been doing since ages. But some peculiar incidents are memory plus, in my head.

I remember, I was disqualified from a running race in an inter-school competition, after winning the first two rounds. They said I wasn't participating in the right age group. I felt dejected in front of all other participants. Mom fought with the organisers. And proved that I was qualified enough and made sure I took part and won. She never left me for a single moment, she cheered throughout and boosted my confidence.

She's such a mother, who would never accept injustice of any kind and retaliate, to make things right.

Once, she was on her way to work, riding her scooter. And someone from a bus, spat out from the window. Her dress got stained from the pan spray. She stopped the bus and lectured the concerned person for his not-so-celebrated deeds. I'm sure that man has never in his life thought of spitting pan again.

My mom can literally be a Jhansi- ki - rani sometimes. Be it for her kids or her family.

Hurriedly taking my grandpa to the hospital, bravely, driving alone, when he had suffered a cardiac arrest and my dad was at work in some other town. My grandpa was out of danger because of her presence of mind.

Her decision making skills are outstanding. She never did a corporate job, but if she had, it would've been a different story.

Trying to be a mom like her is difficult. I don't even try to imitate. Yes, inspired!, that I'm. Even at this age, she is on her toes, willing to do all the work by herself. Never saying a 'No' to anyone asking help.

What amuses me is that she is happy with even smallest things in life. She never demands expensive gifts or lavish meals for her birthday. She never expects much from others. But is happy even if we gift her our time, exclusively for her. She wants her daughters to visit her and spend lots of time chit-chatting with her.

"My daughters are my greatest possession", she says. She isn't a fan of jewellery but wants us to be her gems.

Mumma! You are the real 'Midas' who has transformed us into what we are today.

Thanks Mumma for everything!

Happy Mother's Day!
