The artist in him!

He slid a folded paper underneath the door of my room. It read, "I am sorry Mom", and was decorated with glitters and stars. I knew exactly which little hands had written it.

I was furious. This little one, how could he speak so arrogantly? I didn't like it and made it clear to him that I wasn't talking to him till get behaves.

And few minutes later I received this sorry card.

He already knew his mistake and had realised soon enough. This beautiful card that he had made, spent time writing, decorating and making sure it reaches me, I appreciated his efforts. I opened the door and found him waiting impatiently to hug me. He used to hold his ears and say sorry when he was this little. And this mom here, melted, as always. Yet, I made sure that he doesn't repeat his mistake.

This little boy, loved making cards, whether it was a sorry card or thankyou card or teachers day card or birthday card.

His art, though not up to the mark, but he enjoyed it. We used to watch YouTube videos for kids, and he drew and painted those pictures.

People spend money on buying paintings and show pieces to hang in and around their houses. But what I do is I get these framed, the paintings done by my kids. Their room is decorated with their own art and craft pieces.

My elder one was always interested in art, specifically painting. So watching him paint and colour, younger one caught enroute. But as the elder one grew up, due to his studies and other activities, he seldom paints. Following him, religiously, younger one started losing his interest too.

Now the art that he grasped was playing games, the online games. He makes sure whatever he does, he is doing with conviction. When he painted he did it wholeheartedly. And now he excels at playing these games too.

Kids develop their own hobbies and have their brains working their way.

He has his creative ideas for his school projects. Surprises me with his elocution and oratory.

The pandemic did hit the wrong chords. It disenchanted him from all of this and the screen felt more pleasing to him.

But things are falling in place slowly. He is learning to play drums and literally, keeps banging on tables and chairs, hitting the bongo, trying to create different beats.

He happily joins me in, when I make rangoli during Diwali. He comes up with his own design and fills in vibrant colours.

The new art that he has acquired is sweet talks. He makes friends easily. Also convinces me, many a times to affirm his demands, even though, not always reasonable.

Watching me pen down poetry and stories, he takes interest in reading them and also inquires whether I got a star or trophy this time. The other day, when we had this picture prompt for Momspresso,   I was still figuring out what the phrase meant. While he abruptly said, "It's 'Be Right Back' mom". And I was stunned. I wrote for the prompt and also received a trophy. He was so happy for me, he showed a thumbs-up and winked saying, "Party to banti hai".

Kids are full of creativity and we should nurture their attributes. Albert Einstein said, "Creativity is intelligence having fun" and I totally agree!
