The number game!

 The weighing machine in my house, whenever I stand atop, it weighs me down. No, no, not that I am feather weight. It literally weighs me down, Meri atma ko jhanjhodke rakh deti hai! 


I seldom hop on it, as I know that it won't be biased, not even once. As if the heir of Satyavadi Harishchandra, it, without putting it's hands on the 'Geeta', tells nothing but, only the truth.


The display flashes and my self-esteem crashes!


Cut down on sugar, no more Theobromas nor Smoors, no Pizza huts nor Burger Kings. 'Eat healthy, stay fit', has been my slogan, since months now. I control the temptations when I passby Haldirams or Jhama. Yet, the weighing scale shows no mercy on me.


Ahh! I sigh. But it's all in vain. Okay, let me increase the reps from tomorrow. I will also boost the step count. More Pilates, more crunches, more burpees (ardous ones). But the weight


Tasss se masss nahi....bas mass badhta jata hai!



My younger sister is gifted. She has a tendency of not putting on weight. My FIL had given her a challenge that whenever she visits our place, she has to hop on the weighing balance. If her weight has increased by atleast a Kg, she is entitled to win Rs.1500/-. Wow what an offer. Still, my sister rarely won.

But his challenge was limited to my sister only. As he knew, if it was extended to me, he definitely would be at loss, and a huge one.


The ever increasing numbers in your bank account is breathtaking sight....

But the ever increasing numbers on the weighing scale, is a tragic plight!

Stop! Been there, done that. Nothing really works.

Why? Hmmm, consistency my darling. You need to do it till it works!

You get thousands of suggestions, opinions on daily basis. Your friends and family, they are worried for you, yes, agree. But eating salads for months, drinking those tasteless or weird tasting smoothies. Skipping meals for some herbal juices. Is it really healthy? I hope it doesn't ruin your health further.


We must know our body first, and then eat what it can digest. So plan the diet accordingly. Exercise is a must, but overdoing it is also hazardous. Lifting weights without training, getting up one fine day and sprinting out of nowhere, hurting your knees, feet. Don't do that. Take guidance from experts before you jump into a routine.



Haphazard Yoga asanas, wrong postures all this may lead to life long risks.


Don't blame the weighing scale,

It's our duty to stay hearty and hale,

Step by step, gradually, work things out,

Healthy eating habits will make you fit and stout,

Let's not debate on which diet is good,

Train and drain, enjoy your food,

Work, play, sing and dance,

To lead a wholesome life, this is your chance!
