Back to school....not again! (Part 2).

Their bus arrives at the school and students alight.

As Gaurav reaches the assembly, 10 students gather around,  "Buddy, share your homework na, Math wala".

Geeta's bag drops from her shoulders to the ground with a thud. Her tiffin falls open and water spills from the bottle. "What is all this mess?", she shouts in bewilderment.

Everybody laughs aloud, pointing fingers in L shape (depicting a 'Loser'), at her. "I am topper of my class, how dare you call me a loser", Geeta shrieks in angst, cleaning the mess.

"Take a chill pill Miss.Nautanki", someone taps her shoulder.

"Oh! Preeti", Geeta's eyes are filled with tears, she can see a blurry image of her best friend from school, whom she has seen after ages. She hugs her tightly.

"Bas bas, tera drama band karde drama queen", Preeti says. "And since when are you a topper of the class. Keep your voice low, if Gaurav hears it, you will be more embarrassed in front of him. Did you forget last month's episode?".

"Last month's episode?", Geeta asks, all confused.

"Arey! You were called, to solve a sum on board, by our Math teacher and you couldn't remember the formula. Gaurav solved it in a minute, later. And you said Chullu bhar pani mei dubne ka mann kar raha hai", Preeti laughed.

"I forgot Math formula? And Gaurav solved it?", Geeta couldn't believe her ears.

"Stop! There's some problem here. I am supposed to be the scholar, not Gaurav", she blurts.

Preeti bangs her hand on Geeta's forehead, "Ullu, let's go, it's assembly time".

Geeta observes everything that day. "Kahani mei twist hai! Tables have turned this time ", she murmurs.

Yet she decides to go with the flow.

Gaurav is now the most popular guy in the school, "Was is this handsome always? I used to make fun of him at school", Geeta recollects.

Gaurav sees Geeta standing alone and hastily runs towards her, making sure noone was watching. "Here, take this, your favourite chocolate", he says, handing over a dairymilk to Geeta. "Chocolate?", Geeta asks.

"Yesterday's test was tough for you. I saw you weep after the test. I know chocolate makes you happy. Don't worry, passing a test isn't everything in life. I will be always there for you, even if you fail the test!", Gaurav says, with a broad smile.

As Gaurav walks away to catch up with his friends, Geeta recalls....

"I made him study with me, even when he didn't like it. Took him to libraries when he wanted to go to cafes.

I was at times rude to him. I did show off a bit too. I used to say that I will be a very successful woman, doing a corporate job, or running my own business. He should be nice to me, else I wouldn't marry him. But Gaurav, this time, that he is a scholar, he refrains from discouraging me. Instead, he said it doesn't matter what my grades are!".

Geeta gets drowned in her thoughts, "I thought I would be the one up. But in future, this doesn't happen! He is the one who takes care. He is the one who is successful. He is the one who decides which car to buy, where to invest. I just remain a housewife, scolding our kids, packing their tiffins, doing household chores. But he is still with me.", Geeta sobs.

"Was I really harsh to him? Should I stop complaining about kids and his traits?".

The cuckoo from the clock koo-kooed and Geeta suddenly gets up. She looks around. She is back to the future. She washes her face, looks into the mirror and says, "Geeta is back from school, changed".
