Be happy in your own skin. Lesson learnt!
Opinion is the medium between knowledge and ignorance ~ Plato.
And I was reaching the later half on the timeline between knowledge and ignorance.
"You look too fat in this dress". If someone said this to me, I would rush to change into something that would make me look thin, obviously in their eyes. Other people's opinions mattered to me alot.
I made this terrible mistake. Everytime people judged me, I tried to fit into the frame they set.
But pleasing everyone isn't possible invariably. However I tried, I got deeper into the marsh. Setting standards for yourself is fine, but the disappointment that's attached with not attaining those, is appalling.
Incompetency to make my own decisions, made me into a puppet. A puppet that bobbed as per people's POV.
A puppet is free as long as it loves it's strings ~ Sam Harris.
And such freedom isn't worthwhile.
So I decided to cut the strings and reinvent myself.
'Your opinion is not my reality', this reality hit upon me, belatedly.
So the lesson learnt is helping to metamorphose 'me' into a 'new me'!
My journey from old me to new me is in progress,
I've learnt my lessons, now it's time to de-stress,
Living behind baggage of worries and ambiguity,
Striding forward de novo, with sincerity,
Judgements and apprehensions, omitting all of this,
Embarking upon avenues steering to bliss!
I've decided to amend my blunder. Not bothering about what others say, their prejudices and biases. I am altering my mindset, to not try and fit in something, rather make vocal, how I am sculpting myself into a better person. And how I am loving it!
It's depressing when you aren't accepted into a certain society, a certain group or a certain circle of people.
But trust me, the attempt isn't worthwhile. If it's not meant to be, then be it. Impressing others in a way they wish, just so that they would acknowledge your existence, isn't an essence of your being.
Acceptance and approval are two different things! Keep the people who appreciate and accept you, closer than those, whose approval is obligatory each time you do something.
Beware of the species who try to put you down purposely by pin pointing or highlighting your weaknesses in public.
Remember that you're not what others think you're. Have more faith in your abilities, to choose and have a final word for.
Be proud of who you are and not ashamed of how someone else sees you ~ Unknown.

Once you are clear of what you are doing and why, other people's opinions doesn't matter! ~ Sadhguru.
