Good me!

 Everybody strives to be a good person. The better side of me, I have tried to present through this blog in the form of poetry. It is difficult to be perfect but we can atleast try to be good. Hope you agree!



"You are a good mother", said my mother to me,

Coming from an experienced mother, felt glee,

She said, "My grandsons' behaviours are remarkable",

"Can presume that the mother is capable".



Who doesn't like to be called good? 

It definitely uplifts one's mood,

Good human being, when I try to be,

Positive side of others I see.



Kindness through words and acts,

Not hiding truth, stating the facts, 

No sugar coated chatters, 

For me, being straightforward matters.



To help, I like to go out of my way,

My friends and family will agree....won't they?

Polite words and inquiring about one's well being, 

That's all it takes, besides it, nothing. 



Taking care of my kids when they are ill,

I stay by their bedside, calm and still,

Keeping everything away just to tend,

Staying alert to attend. 



Good daughter, I am, I suppose,

Making my parents happy is my purpose, 

Just like they protected me, as a child,

From the aging difficulties, them, I try to shield. 



Good sister, I always wished to be,

Watching my sis being independent and free,

When in need want to rush to her aid,

Distant or close, not letting our love fade.



I strive to be a good wife too,

Promised him a lifetime, once I said, 'I do',

Matching his footsteps, moving along,

Discussing, differing, concurring, singing the same song.



Decency and morals, I keep them close,

But when needed, I certainly oppose,

Ignoring, most of the times, conduct unfavourable, 

I stress on the brighter side, if possible. 



It gives you an upper edge, 

When, to be humble, you pledge, 

Good over evil is always preferred, 

With malice, man has always suffered. 



Kindness never goes wasted,

For time and again, it's tried and tested,

Treating others with courtesy,

I prefer displaying generosity. 



Whether my appearance is pretty or not,

Being good plays the part,

It makes you a beautiful person from soul, 

Charming and dazzling, as a whole!

  And 2024 ends..... What a roller coaster ride!  Every year passes by and the new year comes afore, leaving you with something and making you leave something.  It would be quite odd if time doesn't indoctrinate our minds. Moira : Bound to happen! Chapter - 1.

She was sitting on the bench under the huge tree. Its extensive branches covered few more benches around. The park was a hangout place for teenagers. It was a playground for children and a perfect site for the exercise enthusiasts. People jogged, wearing headphones, determined to shed those extra kilos and be fitter, sticking to their new year resolutions, was a familiar sight here.  Yuga wasn't feeling the vibe today. She had left home as usual, early in the morning, in her tracks and tee to run a few miles, but after three rounds she just sat down on the bench. She saw an old lady taking rounds, walking slowly, but with vigour. The tree was shedding it's aged golden leaves. One such tanned foliole fell beside Yuga on the bench. What's your plan?

 "You've to score good grades at school!" "You've to do your Olympiads!" "You need to have a co-curricular activity or some sports activity!" "You should be able to dance or sing or play a musical instrument!" Oh my my! So much pressure on these little one's learning to adapt and traverse the lanes and by lanes of this complicated world. "But its a rat race! He/she needs to figure it out sooner. Studies, career, universities, the stress builds up as they advance into their grades (classes), isn't it?" Yes, true. It's a tough task for the coming generations. Population is ever increasing. Even though the colleges and courses are increasing in numbers but we have no say on the quality of education they impart. Also the leading universities and colleges are always the first priority, obviously. So the newbies are looked down upon. Also the reservations hinder the paths of many. Well, so what score is a good enough score...
