Never have I ever, also!
Never have I ever stayed at home 24/7 for days together. And COVID made me do that, from March 2020 to many many months ahead, I was literally feeling 'locked up', as in jailed.
I love travelling, I love hanging out. Sitting at home the whole day has never been in my arrangements. Be it a quick trip to buy groceries or quick peep into my friends' place, I love to venture out. Any excuse is valid for me when it comes to sneaking out of the house.
The chaar diwaris cannot contain me, however palatial they may seem.
If not a tour through the avenues, atleast a circuit around my garden suffices the thirst of my parched and restless limbs.
The house arrest, on the top of it, the kitchen duty the whole day, nope, by no means it sounds like me.
I would literally go insane if I ever have to stay indoors for days and months, I had thought. But I could make it through only because of my family members, specially my kids, who kept me so busy that I didn't recall what it was to roam around freely.
I may not be a 'globetrotter' as yet, but 'wanderer' would be an apt word to describe me. I have been quite social all my life. Meeting people, conversing, exploring, is what I am fond of.
Since childhood, this ludo, snakes and ladders or other board games never excited me. I loved playing hide n seek, run and catch games, kabbadi, kho-kho, climbing up and jumping down the trees, swinging in parks, to be precise, all outdoor games were my favourites. I also played cricket with my cousins(all boys). Playing cards was the only indoor game which I used to enjoy.
As a kid, mom had to call me a hundred times, to stop playing and quickly return home to have dinner.
Wendy Wunder says "The magic thing about home is, it feels good to leave, and it feels even better to come back".
I would say it feels better to come back because in the first place you leave it.
Going out and having some fresh air makes me come alive, literally. Catching up with friends and endlessly chatting over any topic, giggling over silly jokes and having fun. Going out with family to have dinner or to a beach or to a movie. Enjoying a drive with family or friends or just me, listening to my playlist and indulging in the pleasant weather. Taking a trail through the lanes around my house to see what new plants my neighbours have planted. To ride the scooter with my kids along, to enjoy the breeze, swaying my hair. All this makes me happy.
And I missed it all so much as never have I ever had been confined before.
