Part 2 - Meine breakup kar diya!

 Gargi walked down from the stage. Gautam couldn't contain his anger. His parents were startled. Gargi's mom was about to faint. Gargi's father joining hands, asked Gautam what had happened. He was already apologising without knowing the reason.

Gargi looked at her father, shook her head in negation, while holding her mother's hand tightly.

Gargi's mascara and kohl were smudged, tears rolled down her eyes, washing away the pink blush from her cheeks. This beautifully decked-up lady had turned into a vamp suddenly. "Is she out of her mind? What does think she's doing? Is this the way to behave?", such whispers in the crowd were making Gargi into a vamp.

Gargi and her mother went into the dressing room. "What's wrong? Why did you do it?", her mother couldn't control sobbing. "His client, the one in navy-blue blazer, literally groped my bare waist when we were posing for the picture. And when I jerked away his hand, Gautam grabbed it and again put around my waist", tears profusely ran down her eyes now. Gautam whispered in my ears, "That's my important client Gargi, just let it slide, it's okay". Now, Gargi sat down with a thud on the ground. "I want to break this engagement ", she said in a stern voice.


Her mother was totally perplexed. Wiping her own tears, she patted Gargi's head. Gargi looked up, her eyes were pitiful.

"If he's saying it's ok, it must be, why did you slap him?", her mother said avoiding eye contact with Gargi. Gargi couldn't believe her ears.

Her father came in. "What's all this tamasha Gargi? We allowed you to choose your partner. We didn't object to anything you said. But what's all this? Go and say sorry to Gautam", Gargi's father was furious.


"Do you know what he did Papa? You didn't even ask me the reason....", before Gargi could finish her father said, "I don't want to know. The guests are talking about us. We haven't raised you properly is what they are saying. Don't forget you have younger cousins too. If you keep acting in such a way, not only you but they will remain unmarried too. Are you not concerned about our image in the society?".


Gargi couldn't take it anymore. She rushed out of the room. She took off the ring from her finger and banged it on Gautam's hand. Gautam's parents looked at Gargi, utterly irritated. Gautam forcefully held Gargi by her hand and dragged her to the corner of the stage. "How dare you slap me. Why did you do it?", he asked. 

"You don't know why I did it. Are you that naive or totally insane?", she replied.

Gargi's parents politely asked the guests to leave, joining their hands, apologising.

"Gargi stop this drama now, you handed back the ring to me. Do you know what it means?", Gautam yelled, once the guests left.


"Yes, I am breaking this engagement", she confidently announced.

Moira : Bound to happen! Chapter - 1.

She was sitting on the bench under the huge tree. Its extensive branches covered few more benches around. The park was a hangout place for teenagers. It was a playground for children and a perfect site for the exercise enthusiasts. People jogged, wearing headphones, determined to shed those extra kilos and be fitter, sticking to their new year resolutions, was a familiar sight here.  Yuga wasn't feeling the vibe today. She had left home as usual, early in the morning, in her tracks and tee to run a few miles, but after three rounds she just sat down on the bench. She saw an old lady taking rounds, walking slowly, but with vigour. The tree was shedding it's aged golden leaves. One such tanned foliole fell beside Yuga on the bench.  "You've to score good grades at school!" "You've to do your Olympiads!" "You need to have a co-curricular activity or some sports activity!" "You should be able to dance or sing or play a musical instrument!" Oh my my! So much pressure on these little one's learning to adapt and traverse the lanes and by lanes of this complicated world. "But its a rat race! He/she needs to figure it out sooner. Studies, career, universities, the stress builds up as they advance into their grades (classes), isn't it?" Yes, true. It's a tough task for the coming generations. Population is ever increasing. Even though the colleges and courses are increasing in numbers but we have no say on the quality of education they impart. Also the leading universities and colleges are always the first priority, obviously. So the newbies are looked down upon. Also the reservations hinder the paths of many. Well, so what score is a good enough score...
