To err is human!

 Year 2000 -


"What should be the theme for this year's Fashion show Sups?", I was discussing with Supriya.


"Hmmmm, let's do the 3 ages - Stone, machine and Jet age, What say?", idea struck my mind which I instantly blurted out.

Supriya and me finalised the theme, standing on the railway platform.


Every year, the Government Engineering college in my town hosted an event 'Lamhe' for all degree colleges around. Our engineering college participated without fail too. Dance, elocution, beauty pageant, Jam, fashion show, singing and many such fun competitions were held.


Supriya and me, along with our friends set on to perform on stage with also our gang helping hands off stage.



We all got busy with preparations. Staying up late at nights ( we used to call it Night Marna, in engineering language), we all designed dresses from scratch. Jute bags, khadi, silver foils, hand-painted internet home page, headphones, cables and what not, came to our rescue.




'Hathiyaron se lais', like the warriors are, we the performers stood ready backstage for the round one - The stone age. Music started playing and I entered the stage with other folks walking down ramp, full of confidence, posing, turning back and exit.



While changing into machine age costume, my friend and mom, was helping me out and there slipped my sandal through crack in floor. I didn't know what to do! I was literally sweating....I can't go without my sandals on stage...how can I make a fool of myself?... so what do I do? I decided to skip that round and changed into round 3 costume, without much ado.


Well, the show must go on....And it did!


The 3rd round was over and we received applauds and cheering.



But later when we stepped down the stage, all my friends gave me furious gaze...where were you? what happened?

And I told them the tragedy of my life...they all teased me and laughed their souls out.


For next few months, I was their target and my sandal story the laughing stock...couldn't help! Dost jaise jaruri hote hai, kaminey bhi hote hai....

  And 2024 ends..... What a roller coaster ride!  Every year passes by and the new year comes afore, leaving you with something and making you leave something.  It would be quite odd if time doesn't indoctrinate our minds. Moira : Bound to happen! Chapter - 1.

She was sitting on the bench under the huge tree. Its extensive branches covered few more benches around. The park was a hangout place for teenagers. It was a playground for children and a perfect site for the exercise enthusiasts. People jogged, wearing headphones, determined to shed those extra kilos and be fitter, sticking to their new year resolutions, was a familiar sight here.  Yuga wasn't feeling the vibe today. She had left home as usual, early in the morning, in her tracks and tee to run a few miles, but after three rounds she just sat down on the bench. What's your plan?

 "You've to score good grades at school!" "You've to do your Olympiads!" "You need to have a co-curricular activity or some sports activity!" "You should be able to dance or sing or play a musical instrument!" Oh my my! So much pressure on these little one's learning to adapt and traverse the lanes and by lanes of this complicated world. "But its a rat race! He/she needs to figure it out sooner. Studies, career, universities, the stress builds up as they advance into their grades (classes), isn't it?" Yes, true. It's a tough task for the coming generations. Population is ever increasing. Even though the colleges and courses are increasing in numbers but we have no say on the quality of education they impart. Also the leading universities and colleges are always the first priority, obviously. So the newbies are looked down upon. Also the reservations hinder the paths of many. Well, so what score is a good enough score...
