The chronicle.

I love this cheese!", I announced, standing at the cheese stall, in Savona, Northern Italian region.

I fell in love with cheese and the young lad fell in love with me! "

Hi! I am Christopher, Christopher Colombus. I run this stall along with my father ", he said.

I smiled and in a reticent tone, replied with a "Hi!".

I kept visiting his stall and there began our love story. He used to often tell me how he always wanted to travel the world. He loved exploring places. His fairy tale-ish dreams made me fall for him, even more.

One day Christopher came to me and said, "I got a job as a business agent, am going to England and Ireland ". I was thrilled to know that he is travelling these far off places. I so wanted to join him on his voyage.

But we decided to wait. He said he would come back and we should get married.

He finished his work in England and Ireland. He came back but met me once to just tell me he's travelling again, this time it's Portugal. I felt hurt. "He wants to leave me again? Hadn't he promised to marry me?",

I was upset. But couldn't do much, I had to wait, yet again.

On his journey to Portugal, he met this girl called Filipa. She was daughter of a Portuguese Nobleman.

I heard the rumours, but I believed in him and our love. I knew he would never cheat on me.

Christopher came home, not alone, but with Filipa. They were already married.

Christopher said, "Goals are simply tools to focus your energy in positive directions. These can be changed as your priorities change, new one added and others dropped".

I was literally broken hearted. I didn't know what to do! I wanted to go and tell Filipa all about us. But what difference would it make now?

I decided to avenge him. He had taken advantage of my quiet nature and my love for him.

I got to know that he was going on a  voyage this time to some Americas.

I made a plan. I decided to follow him. I jotted down a complete foolproof master plan and I set out.

I wasn't a sailor nor a businessman. But my spirits were high! I remembered what Christopher used to say, "You can never cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose the sight of the shore".

I travelled night and day, fighting storms and waves...I kept sailing through. Finally I reached a unique landmass,

A New World, it was. I had discovered new world. "Following the light of the sun, we left the old world".

I couldn't see Christopher's ship sailing nearby. "

Ah! His ship surely sank, couldn't sustain the blows", I thought.

Something hit my head and I suddenly came to senses. My history professor was standing with the book,

Colombus, The four Voyages.

I guess he had hit me with the same. "

How can you doze off in my lecture, when it's your favourite historical figure, I am teaching about?", he yelled at me.

I said sorry and instantly the bell rang.
