Tum bin jiya jaye kaise? Some memories are for keepsake.

 Boom! Thadddddssssss!

He hit his head to the steering wheel...his seat belt had opened up, so airbags didn't release. The truck went pass, as if nothing happened, but Kabir, his head profusely bleeding, lay unconscious, in the driver's seat.

Somebody reported the accident. Kabir's family was informed. Sana, dressed in her night suit, rushed to the hospital, with her 17 year old daughter, Kainaat. Sana was taken to the morgue. She couldn't believe her eyes. Kabir had just spoken to her, only 2 hours ago. He was so happy to have cracked a prestigious deal, at work. He had all chances of getting promoted this year. They were so happy. And now, she was standing in front of his dead body, trying to identify. Sana caught hold of herself, she had to! Else it would've been difficult for Kainaat too. Kainaat stood there, speechless, literally couldn't open her mouth and utter a word......bewildered...hesitating whether to put her hand on mom's shoulder or to hug her tight? She wanted to comfort her mom, but due to their frequent disagreements, they hadn't been close enough, these days

Kainaat was a dad's girl. She couldn't have imagined a day without her dad.

And now, her dad was no more! Her world was shattered. Some how they both came to their senses, collecting themselves together, they came back home.

Kabir's mom, Noor flew from India. She couldn't meet her only son, the last time. She was deeply grieved.

The last rights were performed and they had to bid the final goodbye to Kabir, yes, the last one!

Few months passed. Noor returned to India. Sana an engineer by profession, had to work harder now. She was the sole bread earner of the family. She tried her best to balance her role as a mom of a teenager and as a chief engineer in her office. It was an arduous job...a bumpy ride! Moreover Kainaat was growing more hostile towards her. Sana and Kainaat shared only a few lines in a day -

"Dinner is served", "Pass me the chicken curry", "Am leaving for school", "Am leaving for office"..

..thats it.

That day Sana decided to sell Kabir's car. She was talking to a car dealer. Kainaat over heard her, speaking on the phone. Kainaat was furious,

"Just a year more and I will be eligible to drive. I want to drive my dad's car. That would be my 1st car", she thought. But she knew her mom would never listen to her. Still Kainaat confronted her mom saying not to sell dad's car. Sana was firm on her decision. She had a lot on her plate, she had to sort many things, left unfinished by her husband. She tried to explain to Kainaat that she doesn't want to keep the car, her husband died in. But again their strong personalities clashed as usual.

Sana put up a "Car on Sale", board outside their garage.

A few days later, the dealer came to see the car. Sana opened the cover of Kabir's car. She hadn't touched his car after the accident. It was just repaired and parked in the garage, for months now. The dealer checked the car and said he would get back to her. After the dealer left, Sana opened the car door and sat inside.

She gently brushed the dashboard with her hands. She was, at once, pulled back to the days, when Kabir had bought this car.

Kabir was so excited for his 1st car. It was Kainaat's 10th birthday. Kabir had come home, honking the horn, of this new car. It was a big surprise! The three of them, then, had gone on a road trip to a beachside, to celebrate the birthday and the arrival of new car. They had stayed at a luxurious hotel. Kainaat had enlivened to her max there. It was the most memorable and enjoyable trip for them.

Kabir had taught Sana to drive, in the same car. In the same car, she had been to such lovely dates with Kabir. The icecreams they shared in the car.... the passionate kiss, in the car, while it was raining outside....the smiling faces of Kabir and Kainaat, everything flashed in front of her eyes.

The next moment, Sana was wailing. There were hundreds of memories connected with Kabir, in this car.

Kainaat came back from her tuition classes. She saw her mom sitting in the car. Kainaat stood there watching her mom drenched in tears. She woke Sana up from her memory slumber.

Sana hugged Kainaat tightly and said, "Am sorry beta, am not a good mom! Am a bad wife too! I was about to sell this valuable treasure to some unknown person. I loved your dad alot. And I love you as well. Just that the work pressures and tension, to bring you up solely, are taking it's toll on me. I am so so sorry beta".

Finally their egos melted, Kainaat accepted that she was at fault too. She never put herself in her mom's shoes. She only thought of her dead dad and never considered her alive mom's feelings. They apologised, hugged and cried. The car was the witness!

Sana threw away the "SALE" board and declared "No more sale now".

Kainaat tucked the car in its cover again. She was happy to keep her dad's car as her 1st car!
