Moira : Bound to happen! Chapter 13.

Yuga was completely exhausted as she returned home from tallying the revenues and expenditures the whole day.

"Generating pending bills, finishing backlogs, closing suspense accounts, is a big task", she mumbled as she pour her a glass of water.

"Yes it is. But closures are important. And you shouldn't keep anything pending, even in life", her mom said as she handed over a plate of steaming idli-sambar to Yuga. "Now sit comfortably and eat. I know you haven't had your lunch today", she added.

"Oh God! This tattletale Sameer", Yuga grumbled as she took a bite. "Yummm....", she said. "Wait...what else did he say?", she gasped, putting her spoon down. She sounded wary.

Mom put the spoon back in Yuga's hand, gestured her to eat and said, "Everything about Nirav.....Navya, about her deceased mother. Everything". Mom took a deep breath.

"Baccha, just be all ears....The other day, when I said it's a signal from God, I wasn't wrong. He has a daughter and the kid has no mother. Isn't it a boon in disguise?", mom tried to explain.

"Mom!", Yuga sounded irked. "How could you?", Yuga gulped some water and controlled her eyes from getting misty.

"Yuga, baccha, let me finish.....You can be a 'Mother'. Isn't that what you always wanted?", mom said in a sad but deeply caring tone. "After that horrific incident three years ago, when we came to know that you can never birth a child, we all know what you went through. And you couldn't comprehend whether to mourn for your husband or shed tears for the baby. It was such a predicament for us all", mom sobbed.

She had tried to control but now, tears started rolling from Yuga's eyes, profusely.

Wiping off Yuga's tears with her pallu, mom, still sobbing, said, "Sorry baccha I didn't mean to aggrieve the derelict past".

Yuga's dad too joined in the conversation,  patting Yuga's back.

"Your dad and me want you to settle down. Have someone who loves you, takes care. We won't be around forever. Also, we know how much you loved Yash. And Nirav looks like him. When he accompanied us to the hospital that day, don't know why, I felt something, something very very positive about him", mom brushed Yuga's hair.

"Yash can never be replaced but for once think on both lines, rational and emotional. Why did you meet Nirav who looks like Yash? Why did you feel the attraction? Why did you run through the traffic when you are afraid of speed and speeding cars? I am not pushing you to ratify something against your wish. Par ek baar thande dimag se socho beta", mom rested her case.

She brought some more idlis and said, "And never skip your lunch again".

Yuga looked at her and then to her dad. He gave an assertive smile.

As the butter melted over the hot idlis, Yuga's irk mollified, after listening to what her mom had to say.

The flashes from these few days one by one glinted in her mind. Nirav's watch, his face, their gaze, Navya's smiling face, her innocently grasping Yuga's leg and holding her hand, the old lady's words, meeting Nirav again and again, coincidentally.....was it really a coincidence? Or was it fate.....her Moira?

Yuga moved her hand slowly over her stomach. She picked up the phone and scrolled to search Nirav's number. And finally, saved it, 'Moira'.
