Moira : Bound to happen! The finale.

Yuga slid her fingers through her hair. She looked up and then towards Nirav again, "It's not that simple Nirav", Yuga tried to explicate. "I cannot be a mother, I cannot bear a child", Yuga said, as she lightly pressed her stomach. 

"I was three months pregnant when we got into the accident. I lost my baby and also the right to bear one, forever", Yuga said, her voice was cracking. She pressed her stomach harder this time.

Nirav held Yuga's hand and rested it on the table.

"I understand your concern. But it doesn't matter to me Yuga. And also, it doesn't answer my question", he was making his point clear. "Do you like me?", he repeated the question. 

"Nirav, you already know how difficult it is, to soothe your heart after your partner, your loved one leaves you suddenly. It took me three years to come back to normal", Yuga said, slowly her voice was getting normal.

"Actually this is the first time I'm asking such a question to a woman", Nirav said in a modest tone.

"First time? But your wife....", Yuga was about to complete, when Nirav interrupted. "My wife? I have never been married. And moreover for Navya's sake I had decided not to".

"Then Navya? She isn't your daughter?", Yuga was surprised. 

"Oh! Sorry that I didn't clarify before. Navya is my brother's daughter. Yes, I know how difficult it is to overcome the pain of losing your closed ones. My brother and bhabhi also met with an accident, two years ago. Navya has no one but me, by her side now. And I too have only her.", Nirav replied in a subdued tone.

"She calls you Dadda....so I thought...", Yuga couldn't find words, she was astonished.

"Yes, I taught her to say that. She was just three. She had just learned the concept of family and she was embroiled into such an inequitable situation. I thought she could call me Dadda and feel the happiness of having atleast someone, someone like her dad. I want to raise her as my own daughter.....", Nirav's eyes turned misty this time. 

It was Yuga's turn to hand him a tissue paper now and console him.

"Yuga we are matured adults. There's no running around trees or only going on dates like teenagers, for us. We know, there's more to life than just that. It takes, responsibility, adjustment, cooperation, compatibility, all this and much more to be in a relationship. Just going around hand in hand doesn't suffice, right?",  Nirav sounded earnest.

"Right! I followed you the first time because you looked like Yash. I behaved just like a teenager. Then we kept meeting. And I started thinking about the pros and cons. I thought a hundred times about 'what next'. Then, I thought life is giving me a second chance. And when I met Navya, I got pulled into this some more.....", Yuga was letting out all her thoughts open. 

"I didn't want Navya to be side-tracked so never thought of falling in love or getting married. But, when I saw your bond with Navya I felt relieved. I thought Navya couldn't get a better mother. But I didn't know much about your thoughts....would you accept Navya? I didn't want to burden you or to get into any sort of obligation......yet, don't know why, but I kept feeling that something is drawing me close to you, some kind of serendipity...." Nirav was opening up too.

"But Yuga my question remains unanswered ", Nirav kept insisting.

"You call it Serendipity and I call it Moira", said Yuga. "You are my moira Nirav, yes, I like you", she affirmed, with a beautiful smile.

"I saw your beautiful smile for the first time today. Yuga, I had stopped believing in destiny, after what happened with Navya, at such a young age. But after meeting you I feel, yes, this is our 'Moira and it was bound to happen'! Time brought us together", Nirav said as he put his palm over Yuga's. And the dial of his watch reflected the light.

His phone beeped. Nirav got a text message, "I've got a perfect place for your office. The old lady who we met the other day at my office, it's her place. It suits all your requirements - Sameer".
