Moira : Bound to happen! Chapter - 1.

She was sitting on the bench under the huge tree. Its extensive branches covered few more benches around. The park was a hangout place for teenagers. It was a playground for children and a perfect site for the exercise enthusiasts. People jogged, wearing headphones, determined to shed those extra kilos and be fitter, sticking to their new year resolutions, was a familiar sight here. 

Yuga wasn't feeling the vibe today. She had left home as usual, early in the morning, in her tracks and tee to run a few miles, but after three rounds she just sat down on the bench. She saw an old lady taking rounds, walking slowly, but with vigour. The tree was shedding it's aged golden leaves. One such tanned foliole fell beside Yuga on the bench. She picked it up and let it descend on the ground. She switched off the songs playing on her phone. With air pods in her ears, she sat inert on the bench. She closed her eyes and could hear the birds chirping. "They are so happy even at the break of the day", she thought.  The gentle breeze had already dried up the sweat drops that rolled down her temples. She wasn't feeling herself today. Her busy life, work pressure, deadlines were taking a toll. To add on, unpleasant reminiscence was overwhelming her emotions. These early morning sprints usually distracted her from the daily grind for sometime. So she would gear up positively for the day. But today was different. She just wanted to do nothing. Even those sweetly singing birds, thrilled for the day, couldn't boost her mood. With her eyes closed she wished her heart gets stupefied, "I need some excitement in my life!", blurting out aloud, she sighed.

Yuga opened her eyes and certain sunlit object blinded her vision. She shielded her eyes with her palms. Trying to see through the gap between her fingers, she glimpsed a silhouette. The watch on his wrist was reflecting the sun's rays. She slowly took her palm off her eyes as the reflection became balmy. She saw a well built young man running on the tracks across her bench. By the time she could scan him properly, the man sped up and ran past her. Yuga abruptly got up and started running in his direction. In her mind, she wasn't even sure of what she is doing. "What if I manage to reach him? What do I do if I run up to him?", she hadn't even sorted her thoughts. It was just an instinctive reaction her body had taken. "It must be my hormones acting weird", her soliloquy. She shook her head trying to steer clear of all the random thoughts. And started catching some pace.

The man was fast so Yuga had to speed up. She put all her strength and finally was running abreast with him. They ran side by side for a few seconds and the man glanced at her. Their eyes met and Yuga decelerated. The man slowed his pace too. Yuga halted and on her knees, plumped down. She covered her face with her palms. The man stood beside her, still, hands on his waist, catching his breath.
