Book cafè :


 Alora had accepted whatever was happening with her. She went home, with the thrilling thought of joining Armaan's team. She set the alarm for next morning, a half an hour early and went to bed.

The alarm rang and Alora jumped out of the bed. Yes, it was half an hour early. She was excited for the day and there was a knock on her room's door. 

"Hey why are you up so early? Its Sunday today beta. Do you have plans with Jia?", Alora's mother came in.

"Maa!", Alora exclaimed. The silver threads from her mother's hair had vanished. She hurriedly checked her mobile. It was year 2020. Alora sat down on the floor with mobile in her hand.

"You okay beta? What happened? Has Jia ditched the plan? No worries come with me to the mall for shopping. Your birthday is coming close, lets get you some fancy clothes ", mother said.

Alora couldn't fathom the situation. Just when she had accepted,"What exactly is happening here! How do I keep switching between 2020 and 2025? How and when does it happen? After I sleep? But I was at the playground yesterday when I went inside the book. And how do all people join me in?", Alora rumpled her hair in anxiety. The thrill had been replaced by angst, now.

"Alora are you okay?", mother asked.

"Maa, I'm okay. But sorry, lets go shopping some other day. I've plans with Jia.", Alora got up and plumped on the bed as her mother left the room. 

"I need to make a strategy. I should somehow stop myself from getting pulled into the book. But then....I will never meet Armaan again. He looked so cute when he said he was looking forward. His eyes, his face, I want to see him more. His deep voice, I want to hear him more....Errr...snap out of it Alora. You need to have a normal life else you will go crazy....", Alora kept arguing and reasoning with herself. 

She got dressed up and decided to meet Jia, not messing up her Sunday anymore. "Lets meet here....", Jia texted her the address. 

Alora reached the place and as she got out of the auto, she felt that the place looked familiar. Jia came running to her. Jia snatched her hand and took her to a building complex that was under construction. 

"Alora see....this is the place....here it's here Alora", Jia couldn't contain her excitement. 

Alora screened the entire place and suddenly blurted, "You want to open your book cafè here".

Jia stood stunned, looking at Alora. "How did you know? I haven't told anyone about this before. Did I ever tell you about the book cafè? Can you read minds now?", Jia was addled. 

Alora covered her mouth with her palm. As always she had babbled and repented.

Moira : Bound to happen! Chapter - 1.

She was sitting on the bench under the huge tree. Its extensive branches covered few more benches around. The park was a hangout place for teenagers. It was a playground for children and a perfect site for the exercise enthusiasts. People jogged, wearing headphones, determined to shed those extra kilos and be fitter, sticking to their new year resolutions, was a familiar sight here.  Yuga wasn't feeling the vibe today. She had left home as usual, early in the morning, in her tracks and tee to run a few miles, but after three rounds she just sat down on the bench. She saw an old lady taking rounds, walking slowly, but with vigour. The tree was shedding it's aged golden leaves. One such tanned foliole fell beside Yuga on the bench.  "You've to score good grades at school!" "You've to do your Olympiads!" "You need to have a co-curricular activity or some sports activity!" "You should be able to dance or sing or play a musical instrument!" Oh my my! So much pressure on these little one's learning to adapt and traverse the lanes and by lanes of this complicated world. "But its a rat race! He/she needs to figure it out sooner. Studies, career, universities, the stress builds up as they advance into their grades (classes), isn't it?" Yes, true. It's a tough task for the coming generations. Population is ever increasing. Even though the colleges and courses are increasing in numbers but we have no say on the quality of education they impart. Also the leading universities and colleges are always the first priority, obviously. So the newbies are looked down upon. Also the reservations hinder the paths of many. Well, so what score is a good enough score...
