When the stars align! (3)

"Did you comfortably get through the security check?", Akash was tempted to ask but on second thought, it would've been too obvious, as she was already here. He decided to just drink his coffee and finish his work. So he peeped into his laptop once again while trying to sip coffee from the steel glass. And he stopped to see, he had mistakenly lifted the empty glass. So he rolled his eyes up and lifted the glass with coffee. He heard a soft chuckle, and saw that the girl was glancing at him with a grin.

As Akash saw her, she quickly turned her gaze to the book. Akash smiled and gulped his coffee. He continued working on his laptop and there was an announcement for the flight. Akash read the flight information display and began to proceed towards his gate. "Excuse me", he heard a soft voice and turned back. It was the petite girl standing behind him. "Can you help me please?", she asked Akash, showing him her boarding pass.

"Tara Verma", Akash scanned the pass and looked at her. "Yes sure, please tell me how can I help?", Akash replied.

"This is my first ever flight. I'm not able to navigate on my own. Where can I find the boarding gate?", Tara inquired.

"Oh, no worries! ...Tara... You're travelling on the same flight as mine. You can follow me. I'm Akash", Akash said with a soft smile.

"Thankyou Akash", Tara felt relieved, as she followed him to the gate.

They both boarded the flight and coincidentally ended up having their seats back and forth. Akash's was a window seat. He put his bagpack in the overhead space and sat down with the laptop in his hands.

Tara was sitting, holding her bag tightly, close to her chest. The man sitting next to her was trying to get close to her. Akash sensed her discomfort. He thought for a second and asked the person sitting next to him to exchange seats with Tara. The person was kind enough to do so.

"Tara you can take the window seat, I'll sit on the aisle side. I have to work on my laptop", Akash said.

"Is it really okay? Thankyou Akash", Tara said, as she took a deep breath.

"Do you want me to help you keep your bag...Tara?", Akash asked.

"No, Thankyou,  I'll keep it with me", Tara said, tightly holding her bag close to her.

Akash unlatched the laptop and started working again. Tara peeked out of the window. She looked anxious. She kept clutching her fingers tightly around the belt of her bag.

Akash glanced at her and said, "You will have to put your mobile in plane mode. I'm gonna finish my work and do the same".

Tara quickly took out her mobile and put it in the plane mode, "Thanks", she said looking at Akash.

Akash finished his work and put his laptop back into the bagpack.  "They won't allow you to hold your bag like that Tara. You can keep it below the seat and you will have to wear your seat belt", Akash said as he sat down, putting on his seat belt.

Tara observed him and followed his instructions. Keeping the book with her, she kept her bag under the seat. She fastened her seat belt and once again thanked Akash.

"Well Tara, you can thank me just once, after we land, else you'll have to keep thanking me throughout the journey", Akash smiled.

Tara smiled too. And then, turned her gaze again, outside the window.
