Akash booked a room in the hotel that was on the road opposite to the BigStar Corp company.
He changed into comfortable clothes and relaxed on the bed. Feeling a slight headache, he massaged his forehead. But didn't get any relief. So he decided to step down and look for medical stores.
Medical stores was nearby so he didn't need to walk any further. He bought the needed medicine. As he was walking back to the hotel, he saw Tara getting into a car. The same man who was accompanying her in the elevator, loaded her luggage in the boot. He then got seated in the front seat, while Tara at the back. The car seemed like a private vehicle not a cab. It was an expensive one. Tara rolled down the window and her face was now clearly visible to Akash. She looked sad, like she had cried a lot.
Akash wanted to cross the road and approach her but the car drove off.
"What's happening with Tara? Who is that man and why did she go with him crying?", Akash's soliloquy.
His thoughts haunted him. And his headache worsened. He went to his room and popped the tablet asap. He again laid down on the bed, thinking about Tara.
"Why am I so worried about her? Did I fall for her? But I know nothing about her. Is it what's called love at first sight? Or is it just a concern for a person you spent sometime with and feel attached for a while", Akash rubbed his forehead vigorously.
"Should I go to the company and inquire? What do I ask? Should I ask the receptionist?", Akash couldn't settle his pelting thoughts.
Akash fell asleep thinking about Tara. The medicine did it's job. When he got up, the day had turned into evening. He looked at the phone, it was 6 p.m. He was feeling better after the power nap. Also he felt hungry so he decided to step down again.
He crossed the road and started walking along the footpath. When he reached the BigStar Corp the thoughts about Tara again started to pop up in his head. Hence, he decided to step in and talk to the receptionist.
The receptionist was ready to leave for the day. "Excuse me Mam can I talk to you for a minute?", Akash said.
She looked at Akash and paused. "Oh you're ... Mr. ...Mr. Rao..right? Sorry Sir but the office closes at 6 p.m., you can come tomorrow morning. Office opens at 9 a.m. sharp. Oh yes and did you get the hotel?", she said.
"Yes! Thankyou very much for that. But I don't want to visit the office. I just wanted to ask you about the girl who came in after me. Her name is Tara Verma. Does she work here?", Akash said.
"Tara Verma? How do you know her Sir?", the receptionist asked, looking astounded.
"Well she's....she's my friend and I saw her here in the morning but she left before I could meet her. So just wanted to inquire", Akash said.
"She's your friend and you don't know that she doesn't work here?", receptionist said, doubting his intentions.
"Don't get me wrong. She's not my close friend. So I don't know much.....", Akash tried to cover up.
"Are you trying to get in good books of the grand mother through her grand daughter Sir?", the receptionist smirked and said.
Akash couldn't fathom what he just heard. He walked out before he could get tangled into more misunderstandings and ruin his deal.
