Code LOVE (1)

He turned pale and fell down with a thud on the ground.

Hey! Wake up. Didn't you eat in the morning? Wake up...wake up...are you not feeling well? Is it a stroke or a heart attack? He seems young though.

People around gathered and tried to wake him up but their efforts failed. Someone opened a water bottle and sprinkled some water on his face. His eyes fluttered a bit, yet, were still shut.

Call an ambulance or a doctor please, a person said.

Through the crowd a young female emerged, making her way in.

What has happened here? I'm a doctor. Please get aside everyone. She said.

She saw the person lying on the road and immediately checked his pulse, then his neck. She stretch opened his eyes to check. He must've fainted because of dehydration or hunger, or some stress maybe. Please help me carry him. I'll take him to the hospital in my car. Does anyone know him? She looked around but didn't get a positive response.

He collapsed here suddenly, someone said.

People helped to put him in the back seat of her car. She drove to the hospital, kept checking on him through the rear mirror, on the way. He didn't wake up. She reached the hospital and called in the ward boys. They came with a stretcher and took him in.

The doctor wore her mask, got sanitised and accompanied the man to the emergency room. She checked his blood pressure, his temperature and asked the resident doctor to get the ECG done.

She asked the ward boy to check his pockets to find his wallet or mobile, so as to contact his family or guardians. The boy found a wallet in his pocket and opened to check. Mr. Prithvi Rathod, he read aloud what was written inside.

The doctor glanced at the man, he looks like a well built young man, doesn't seem weak at all. When I checked his pulse I could feel his strong wrist and arm. Seems like he works out regularly, she thought.

Doctor there's no mobile, the ward boy said. And no other details in his wallet. Neither a visiting card nor any photograph.

The ECG reports are normal doctor, the resident doctor said.

Well, his vitals are okay. Then let's start the IV (Intravenous) and replenish fluids and electrolytes, the doctor said. She scanned him from top to bottom once, Who is he? How do we contact his family?, her soliloquy. The doctor left the ward and asked the boy to keep a check.

The IV did it's job and slowly the young man opened his eyes. He checked his surroundings as soon as he woke up. He glanced at the IV track on his left hand. How am I here? Who brought me here? He thought looking around. He called the ward boy who was close by.

Oh! Finally you are awake. Let me call the doctor, the boy said.

The doctor came in. Mr. Prithvi Rathod? she said. As soon as he heard her, he checked for his wallet.

Sorry we had to check your details so I had asked the ward boy to look into your wallet. You can check for your belongings, they are all as they were, the doctor added.

Oh! okay doctor, he said as he tried to get up.

His deep voice made the doctor glance at his face for a second.

Please stay there don't get up abruptly, she said raising her palm in front of his face. Can we get the phone number of anyone from your family? It would be better if someone is here to take care, the doctor said further.

And yes, we didn't find your mobile. Maybe you dropped it on the road, where you fainted. I found you collapsed on the road, on my way to the hospital. So I brought you here. Haven't you had your food Mr. Rathod? You look pale and drained.

Thankyou doctor for helping me out. But I need to leave now, Prithvi said, ignoring all the questions and he tried to pull the IV line.

Stop! Mr. Rathod, the doctor said as she held his hand. She lowered her mask and looked at Prithvi making her eyes wider, as though scolding a naughty child. Prithvi paused for a second as he glanced at her beautiful eyes, her plump cheeks, her puckered lips and her jet black hair secured in a bun. Her diamond earrings dazzled as she moved. Prithvi cleared his throat as he looked at her hand holding his hand.

Doctor Dharaa there's an emergency. They are bringing in the casualties, please rush, the resident doctor came hastily.

Dharaa put on her mask again. She asked Prithvi to keep resting and she released his hand, to leave in a hurry.
