Doctor we are going to have lunch. What would you have for lunch?, the agents asked.
Simple dal-rice will do, Dharaa said.
One of the agents stayed outside, on guard, while others left.
Dharaa adjusted the flow of the IV line and looked at Prithvi who was still asleep. Prithvi's sturdy arms, his brawny abs and contrast to that his sleeping face. He looked innocent, childlike to Dharaa. She searched around for a blanket and found one. Putting the blanket over Prithvi, Dharaa thought, I had been misunderstanding him until now. He is a national security agent, an authentic flag-waver. I was wrong. But his doubtful behaviour mislead my thoughts....
And inconsciently, she moved her hand over his head, gently. She paused, What am I doing?, she thought and drew her hand back again. She then looked away feeling conscious about her action.
She had her lunch and again rested on the chair placed by Prithvi's bedside.
Prithvi slowly opened his eyes. He tried to move but moaned in pain.
Don't move, relax , Dharaa said.
Prithvi looked at Dharaa. You didn't leave? Sorry am I causing trouble to you? Did you have your lunch?, Prithvi asked, still under a slight influence of sedatives.
Don't worry about me. Worry about your injury Mr. Agent. Has the pain recurred? I will inject paracetamol again but after an hour. You will then feel better, Dharaa said and placed her palm on his forehead. Thankfully you don't have fever.
Prithvi gazed at her. Her touch felt healing to him. Am I feeling lesser pain as she's close to me?, Prithvi's soliloquy.
How long are you staying Dharaa?, Prithvi asked, hushing his thoughts.
Once I'm responsible for someone I don't quit easily. I'll be here till I see you combating once again, Dharaa smiled.
Prithvi gave a subtle smile and a thumbs-up.
Prithvi...ummm...how did your people know exactly where I was?, Dharaa asked.
I apologise in advance Dharaa. I had uploaded a tracker on your mobile, in the café that day. I thought you were too curious about me. So I concluded that knowing more about you was essential. But as I followed you, I discovered that you are confident, sincere and a competent doctor. And hence, I guess I started trusting you more. As special agents we tend to be overcautious with the people we meet. Just like you said, professional hazard, Prithvi elaborated.
A mobile tracker!, Dharaa checked her mobile up and down.
Haha! Ezzz!, Prithvi wanted to laugh but his injury hindered his chuckle. It's an app not a physical tracker, he told.
Don't uninstall it. It's better this way, I will know your location hereafter. It's important for me to be sure about your safety, he added.
Dharaa rubbed her neck feeling awkward and a little embarrassed. My security? Is he suggesting something or it's just my mind, my crazy mind, Dharaa thought.
