The Sun is the source of energy for us. It starts our day and continues to light it up, through the night, via Moon. The symbol of sacrifice, it is, burns each day just to create a bright environment for us! Its rays spread all over, dont differentiate between rich and poor, fair and dark, or anything else...... Just makes sure all of us shine and get energised. The Sun always directs our gaze away from itself. It makes us see the life illuminated by it. Sunshine is the best medicine! We should take inspiration from this Morning star. We can be the sunshine to someone, others. To light up the environment we also need to burn, not literally though!...... We need to pave our way through... we need to struggle to reach the skies...we need to rise above the difficulties to come out shining! They say 'keep your face to the Sun and you cant see a shadow'..... Yeah! Always see the bright side... be optimistic! When we see the Sun coming out of the dark clouds, we belie...

The figure of speech, phrase - 'Jack of all trades, Master of none' is used to say that a person knows many skills but isnt an expert in any one. I think this was relevant in the past. But nowadays even if you aint a master of anything is ok, you have to be Jack of all! Gaining expertise in something is an option, but knowing it all is a must. The knowlegde shouldnt be superficial though. Today the kids have to be passionately curious, they may have no special talent! The parents too want their kids to push themselves. Kids must swim, dance, sing, study, play a sport....exhaustive hmm!! We can divide the Jacks as Generalists and the Masters as Specialists. Now, the specialists have to be on a narrow path, with niche focus on a special talent, and they get locked into it. Generalists on the other hand, will rather have it flexible - moving up, down, left, right, as and when required. Masters - the specialists, have to put in concentrated efforts behind one thing to keep g...

I have a big circle of friends. Friends from every walk of life - lawyer, doctor, C.A, architect, engineer, teacher, homemaker, designer, MBA, artist, singer, dancer & the list goes on..... For a woman - she has to manage many roles - And I am not being sexist or feminist here - No! But from morning till the day ends - she is not just the above mentioned somebody, but, she is a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a cleaner, a sweeper, a helper, a counsellor, a cook, friend, philosopher, guide, so on & so forth.... Managing all these roles is a HUGE task! If she fails being one, she starts feeling guilty. If she excels in one & is really bad at other - the more the anxiety - All this leads to Depression. Yah! Melancholy, Misery, Woe, Dejection, Downheartedness, Pessimism, Moodiness...you can call it by any name. But all this affects her terribly. She starts feeling awful, execrable about herself, her weaknesses. It is easier to say 'my tooth is aching', ...

This is for my friend Ranjit Kaur (it was her suggestion to draw a butterfly in Madhubani Art, so i did! and also ended up with this article...) & all the other women who I know, are willing to take risks & soar heights! Titli - a butterfly is a symbol of woman, obviously because its beautiful & elegant😜! And moreover being a delicate thing that it is, still bravely venturing each day with a new Josh, new Dreams. Theres always a chance of being crushed, pushed, controlled at every new encounter, but the will & thirst to get the nectar is ON..... No matter what challenges life throws at you, gather courage & move on.....Just when a caterpillar thinks its life is over it starts flying...its a butterfly now! Now that you have wings, spread them and fly! A butterfly goes wherever it pleases and always pleases wherever it goes! Meditation, Vipashyana, Leaving in seclusion......what all do we do for inner peace! Why do we need the Inner peace?...... We would never get peace in outer world until we make peace within ourselves. We feel its the key to stress reduction, right? Once we attain inner peace, things fall into place. We cannot control situations & other people's reactions, so we need to control the things we can control - Our thoughts & feelings! Is it possible? I guess, Yes! It is! Some people get peace of mind on completing tasks, some get when they visit religious places, some chant mantras, shlokas, some listen to music, some opt for creativity - they paint, they compose, they indulge in craft. Once you donot allow another person or event to control your emotions - its the beginning of your journey towards inner peace! Once your journey starts, the more peaceful you are inside, the more peace you have, to share with shares. We should learn to ignore things, other person...

People are always watching, eyeing you. They judge you, they comment, they preach, but do they appreciate? Appreciation- keeps us going, wanting to do more.....A pat on our back, a 'good job' comment, a 'keep it up', a word of encouragement that's all we need to keep going, doing better- what we are doing, knowing that we are on the right track! People's eye will always be there, you decide for yourself!                                                          JUI.

The wheel of fortune spins - we wait for it to stop - & see 'what are luck' brings in. But I was always sure that I would get a ' better luck next time!'. This wheel, lottery is never for me. I never bought a lottery ticket coz I know I won't get any 'by chance' fortune. "God helps those who help themselves", yeah right!.... that has been my case, always. I missed my 10th grade board merit list by 7 marks. Yes, I should have studied a bit more. I lost my Govt. College seat to a reserved category student who had scored 50% less marks than me, in the 12th grade exams. Yes, again I could have been standing ahead of him, in the line, I guess! So to sum it up, this wheel thing is just not for me! So what, I do play it for fun. Who cares, win or lose? But I am sure of one thing, I have been working hard for my success, my dreams, my achievements, and will be working so henceforth. No 'luck by chance here'! You swim through only if yo...
