Tune into Love: 10. Perfect?

 A college going boy sat near Neil on the bench. He was listening to songs with his headphones on, yet, on a high volume. Neil could hear the song clearly....

"I found a love for me, 

Oh darling just dive right in and follow my lead, 

Well, I found a girl, beautiful and sweet, 

Oh, I never knew you were someone waiting for me....

'Cause we were just kids when we fell in love,

Not knowing what it was,

Neil couldn't stop his tears. Though he appeared all strong, he got emotional. He somehow, wanted to reach Neha, right now. He had so much to say. He wanted to tell her why he had left the college, how he had always liked her, how he had spend his days lonesome, all the way across oceans, in a foreign country, how he had dreamed of being with Neha, once back, how he had seen Neha with their common friend before and had attended her birthday party just because he was expecting to see Neha there. Neil was serious about Neha, if things would work, he was all ready to propose to her.


"Well, I found a woman, stronger than anyone I know,

She shares my dreams, I hope that someday, I'll share her home,

I found a love to carry more than just secrets, 

To carry love, to carry children of our own......"


When Neha had told him about her father, Neil had inquired about him from the hospital. He came to know how strong a woman Neha is. That she had independently and unassisted, taken care of her dad. Neil had visited the hospital to meet Neha's dad too. That day, his decision about marrying Neha had been even more validated.

It suddenly struck Neil's mind, Neha had done this before. "When she's with her dad she ignores my calls", he thought. 

With lightening speed he got in his car. 


"We are still kids, but we're so in love,

Fighting against all odds,

I know we'll be alright this time, 

Darling just hold my hand,

Be my girl, I'll be your man,

I see my future in your eyes......"


Neil reached the City hospital and rushed to the General ward. Neha's dad was sleeping on his bed, there was no one at his bedside. Neil felt despair. The nurse walked in, "Whom are you looking for young man?, she asked. "Is he alright? Did his daughter visit today?, he asked. "And who are you?", she inquired. "I am Neha's friend, we were supposed to meet but she didn't turn up, so I thought if her dad is ok?", Neil's eyes looked gloomy. 

The nurse said, "He's ok now, Neha was here as he had sudden convulsions". 


"So is there something I can do? Is he alright now?", Neil inquested. "Yes, don't worry, Neha has taken care of everything and after making sure he's ok, she left sometime ago. She looked in a hurry", nurse replied. 


Neil thanked the nurse and left. Neil called Neha as he got in his car. But her phone kept ringing. He called her several times, but she didn't pick up. "Her dad's ok, why isn't she still picking up?, Neil was anxious now.

He didn't know what to do, where to go? "Is she in some danger? What on earth has happened to her?", Neil started getting weird thoughts. 

He reached her dorm again, to check if she was there. The warden said she hadn't returned. He drove to the café, where they were supposed to meet. Neha wasn't there either. Neil was feeling daunted. He felt helpless, just like that day, when he had left the country, without talking to Neha.

  And 2024 ends..... Moira : Bound to happen! Chapter - 1.

She was sitting on the bench under the huge tree. Its extensive branches covered few more benches around. The park was a hangout place for teenagers. It was a playground for children and a perfect site for the exercise enthusiasts. People jogged, wearing headphones, determined to shed those extra kilos and be fitter, sticking to their new year resolutions, was a familiar sight here.  Yuga wasn't feeling the vibe today. She had left home as usual, early in the morning, in her tracks and tee to run a few miles, but after three rounds she just sat down on the bench.  "You've to score good grades at school!" "You've to do your Olympiads!" "You need to have a co-curricular activity or some sports activity!" "You should be able to dance or sing or play a musical instrument!" Oh my my! So much pressure on these little one's learning to adapt and traverse the lanes and by lanes of this complicated world. "But its a rat race! He/she needs to figure it out sooner. Studies, career, universities, the stress builds up as they advance into their grades (classes), isn't it?" Yes, true. It's a tough task for the coming generations. Population is ever increasing. Even though the colleges and courses are increasing in numbers but we have no say on the quality of education they impart. Also the leading universities and colleges are always the first priority, obviously. So the newbies are looked down upon. Also the reservations hinder the paths of many. Well, so what score is a good enough score...
