Moira : Bound to happen! Chapter 11.

 Navya ran to Nirav and asked him to lift her up. Nirav lifted her in his arms and placed a gentle peck on her cheeks. "Dadda look pretty aunty", Navya said pointing towards Yuga. Nirav was in fix as to what reaction should he give. Yuga too stood silently.

Sameer cleared his throat and asked everyone to be seated. Yuga was feeling awkward. This was the first time she was in close proximity to Nirav, perfectly in her senses and for such long time. 

"We were going to have lunch together. That's why she is here", Sameer explained to Nirav. 

"Oh! Okay", Nirav said. Navya was sitting on his lap. Navya patted on Yuga's shoulder. 

"What's your name pretty aunty?", she said, with most innocent smile. 

Yuga smiled and said, "I am Yuga. And what's your name cutie pie?". "Navya", Navya replied lifting up her shoulders and making a pout of her lips. 

Yuga smiled and lifted her gaze, her eyes met Nirav's. Their gaze was locked for a few seconds. She knew he wasn't Yash, then why was she feeling the pull? A bit embarrassed, Yuga quickly shifted her gaze to the other side. Nirav lowered his eyebrows as he pondered on Yuga's behaviour, every time they met. Today he thought had an opportunity to clear the air. 

To interrupt any unwanted flicker that he perceived could have happened between the two people sitting across, Sameer spoke to Yuga, "Nirav is here with his daughter to inquire about the office space that he intends to buy". 

Yuga looked at Navya and then to Nirav.

"So Nirav where were we?", Sameer said to divert Nirav's attention from Yuga.

"Yes, I want to purchase a bigger space. I need enough space for my cabin, something like this, your cabin is exquisite. Also a separate space for my meetings, like a small conference room, a visiting area or reception, small pantry like place for employees to have their food. And yes, the most important is as I told you play area for Navya", Nirav was describing what was in his mind.

Yuga kept staring at Nirav as he spoke and suddenly interrupted, "Where is her mom?".

Nirav stopped speaking and looked at Yuga. Sameer too raised his eyebrows looking at Yuga. Yuga realised what an arbitrary question she had just thrown in.

" I mean you said play area in the office, so I just thought her mom must be working too. Hence I asked about her...I mean.. I didn't mean to.....", Yuga tried to cover up.

"Navya take this cookie beta and watch the tiny cars from the window", Nirav put Navya down from his lap. Nirav made sure Navya was busy eating. He looked at Yuga and said, "She is not with us anymore". Nirav looked up in despair.

"Oh! I am sorry", Yuga said as she looked at Nirav and then towards Navya. She went close to Navya and rested her knees on the floor. Navya offered the cookie to Yuga. Yuga shook her head to say no and held Navya's hand to feed back her the cookie. Navya caressed Yuga's cheeks as she joyfully ate the cookie. 

Nirav watched them sitting in his chair. The sunrays were making Yuga's face glow, making her brown eyes seem lighter, like a chestnut, making her cheeks seem pink, making her look more beautiful. The aura made Nirav's eyes dazzle. The twinkle in Nirav's eyes was very obvious. 

Sameer leaned back on his chair with hands on the table and his palms entwined.

Moira : Bound to happen! Chapter - 1.

She was sitting on the bench under the huge tree. Its extensive branches covered few more benches around. The park was a hangout place for teenagers. It was a playground for children and a perfect site for the exercise enthusiasts. People jogged, wearing headphones, determined to shed those extra kilos and be fitter, sticking to their new year resolutions, was a familiar sight here.  Yuga wasn't feeling the vibe today. She had left home as usual, early in the morning, in her tracks and tee to run a few miles, but after three rounds she just sat down on the bench. She saw an old lady taking rounds, walking slowly, but with vigour. The tree was shedding it's aged golden leaves. One such tanned foliole fell beside Yuga on the bench. She picked it up and let it descend on the ground. She switched off the songs playing on her phone. With air pods in her ears, she sat inert on the bench.  "You've to score good grades at school!" "You've to do your Olympiads!" "You need to have a co-curricular activity or some sports activity!" "You should be able to dance or sing or play a musical instrument!" Oh my my! So much pressure on these little one's learning to adapt and traverse the lanes and by lanes of this complicated world. "But its a rat race! He/she needs to figure it out sooner. Studies, career, universities, the stress builds up as they advance into their grades (classes), isn't it?" Yes, true. It's a tough task for the coming generations. Population is ever increasing. Even though the colleges and courses are increasing in numbers but we have no say on the quality of education they impart. Also the leading universities and colleges are always the first priority, obviously. So the newbies are looked down upon. Also the reservations hinder the paths of many. Well, so what score is a good enough score...
