Moira : Bound to happen! Chapter 9.
"Hi Sameer! This is Nirav Sehgal, hope you remember me. I wanted to meet you regarding the office space I had mentioned", Nirav's bright voice was heard as Sameer picked up his phone.
Sameer checked the number, he hadn't saved it. Sameer scratched his forehead and said, "Oh, Nirav, yes I remember. Well, right now I am in a meeting with another client. I will call you back in 15 minutes and we shall discuss", Sameer hung up making an excuse.
Sameer wasn't sure if he should help Nirav with the office space. Deep down he didn't want Nirav's interference in his or Yuga's life. He thought Yuga could get more disturbed if she keeps meeting Nirav and moreover, Sameer obviously, had an unrequited love for Yuga. He wished Yuga would accept him someday. But with Nirav's entry things had got complicated once again.
Sameer had a big cabin in his office. His table was a plush teak. There were big planters in the corner of his cabin. Advertisements of best upcoming projects in real estate were displayed around. His chair had a beautiful view of sky scrappers of Mumbai overseeing the Arabian Sea.
Sameer was watching the clock on his table, "10 minutes more", he sighed. "Should I give him a call? If I don't, it won't seem professional. Ummmm....I will give him some excuse if he calls back", Sameer's mind was playing games as his fingers kept tapping on the table in anxiety. He slammed his left hand on the table and with his right hand scrolled his phone. Indecisively, he pressed the call button.
"Hi.....Nirav! Sameer here", there was hesitance in his tone.
"Hey hi! Well, actually I have some things to discuss. So can you give me your office address? We can talk in length over this", Nirav suggested.
Now that he had jumped the fence, there was no going back for Sameer. "Yes sure, I will text you my address", Sameer said. The date and time was fixed as they hung up the call.
It was Yuga's lunchtime and she was seated with her colleagues to have her lunch. Her phone beeped. It was a text from Sameer. "Hi Yoda! What you doing?", it read. "Eating my ears", Yuga replied. "HAHAHA", Sameer's reply and he added, "If you want to eat something better join me for lunch". "I am already full", Yuga replied. "Of course those big Yoda ears must be enough", Sameer texted.
"My lunchtime is nearly over so I should get back to work. It's mid Feb already, it is the season of our over-occupation, don't you know? Under the burden of numbers, digits, worn out tallying assets and liabilities. But no one gives credit to our debited energies in the process", Yuga texted. "Carry on, will call later", Sameer replied with a laughing emoji, followed by the ghost emoji.
Sameer wanted to check on Yuga, whether Nirav was in contact with her. But Yuga didn't mention him lately, so he assumed that they haven't met again.
"What if Nirav looks like Yash? He is not Yash. And Yuga knows that very well. I will keep reminding her that. No...I shouldn't talk about Nirav to her...Am I jealous of some kind of relationship that hasn't even started? No, Not at all! Yuga and I go a long way. I have known her even before she met Yash. She has been by my side for years now. But she has always called me a friend may be a best friend. We have been partners in crime when we were kids. However, will she ever accept me as a life partner?", Sameer was perplexed with his own thoughts.
Sameer marked his calendar, "Meeting with Nirav', and saved it.
