On one hand, her heart was fluttering because of Akash's words, his kind gestures and finding someone who cared for her like her parents did. But on the other hand her mind was disturbed by the thought of her nani.
"Will nani accept this? Or will she cut ties with me again like she did with my mom?No! I can't be selfish. If she gets to know about Akash, he will lose on his deal. It will affect his career", Tara thought.
"Akash you are the only person who has cared for me since my parents died and I'm indebted towards you for that. It is so gracious of you to let me know your feelings Akash. But I don't want to trouble you more. You won't gain anything by keeping a girl like me, by your side. On the contrary, you might get deprived of your future prospects. I'm this one unlucky girl, I don't want you to suffer with me", Tara was crestfallen. Her bright hazel eyes now lost their glow and her face had slumped again.
Akash looked at her changed expressions and said, "Tara who said you're an unlucky girl? I feel fortunate to have met you. Don't look down on yourself, you're a brave and intelligent girl. You've struggled to keep yourself safe".
"But Akash I don't want to be an obstacle in your life", Tara said.
" It's okay to put yourself first sometimes. In the end, it's your decision Tara, I cannot force you on anything. But take tour time and think again peacefully when you reach home. If you are worried about nani, don't be. Leave it to me to handle. I'm an expert in cracking business deals and I guess I can do equally good in assuring people in terms of relationships. If you're honest with your feelings then it will definitely reach the other person Tara", Akash told her.
"Well, Tara you've time until tomorrow evening, contemplate. If you join Smitha and me tomorrow evening, I will comprehend that your answer is positive. That you accept me as your boyfriend. For now, chill, I will drop you back. Where do I drop you?", Akash said, with a subtle smile on his face.
"Akash!" Tara exclaimed. "Don't....", Tara couldn't finish her sentence as Akash interrupted her. "Where do I drop you I asked".
"Drop me at nani's office. I need to tell her about the admission and show her these papers", Tara shrugged.
Akash called a cab and they both got seated. On the way, the whole time, Tara remained silent. She didn't know what to say. She kept pondering on Akash's words. She thought, it was her turn to be braver now.
They reached near the company building and Tara asked him to stop a little away from the entrance. She didn't want anyone to see Akash with her.
"Where are you heading to?", Tara asked as she got down.
"I stay at that hotel", Akash said pointing to the opposite side. "Hey Tara who was that man with you the other day. I saw you both getting into a car here".
"Man...oh, he is Gupta Uncle, nani's assistant and a true-blue. He looks after everything I need. He was with us at the college too. Nani doesn't have a son and uncle doesn't have a family. So, apparently, he has dedicated his life at nani's service. He is a kind person. Don't worry, he's been with nani for 20 years now. He knows everything about us", Tara replied.
"Okay then, see you tomorrow", Akash said with a smirk, waving a goodbye and left.
Tara stood there, she was in a bind. As she entered the building she saw Gupta uncle standing there, talking over the phone.
"Did he see us? I hope not. He is busy on the phone", Tara thought, her fingers were crossed.
Akash reached the hotel. He got down from the cab and stood there on the street looking in the opposite direction. He was making sure Tara had entered the building safely.
"I hope she joins us tomorrow", Akash murmured, his fingers were crossed too.
