Home sweet home!

Image
Home is where your heart is! Yes, you put in all your heart to build your home - brick by brick. Then you nurture it corner to corner, wall to wall. Decorate it till it satifies your mind. Then look at it till your eyes lit up. You capture the image and store it in your heart forever. You put in lot of hardships to build, set and cherish 'your home'. Home to us is like an anchor to a ship. It has to be strong enough to hold on to, stay there, even when the waves are cruel and have made their mind to uproot the ship. Home is our happy place we dwell in. It has all our good and bad memories stored in. Each thing we buy with love for our home, we treasure it for our lives. We take care to keep it clean and tidy. We look after so that it doesnt break or tarnish with time. We attach our emotions to every thing, every bit and corner of our home. Home is a place where we are loved and where we can love - we stay together as a family - see dreams and gather courage to per...

Decide to be happy!

Being happy is a very personal thing, it has really nothing to do with anyone else. Its a step we have to take forward. Little things can bring happiness too! We dont have to always win lottery or score 10/10 or win competitions, to be happy. Once we decide in our head and mind, we can be happy in any situation. We get a chance to live only once, so do what makes you happy and be with whoever makes you feel so. Donot wait for something to happen, the best time to be happy is always 'now'. When you know you have the power to choose what to 'accept' and what to 'let go', you will automatically stay happy. Dont search for happiness outside, create it! The less you care what others think, the happier you will be! Keep reminding yourself - I was smiling yesterday, I am smiling today and I will keep smiling tomorrow. Happiness is a state of mind, its how you look at things. As they say "when it rains look for rainbows and when its dark look for the stars!...

Motivation - a stimulant!

A big thankyou to all the readers and followers of my blogs! Thankyou for the encouragement, the support you all have given me & also for imbibing confidence and hope in me. Motivation, encouragement is a trigger which helps us to strive for more and to do better than yesterday. When we are young our parents support us in our endeavours. They train us, teach us, guide us through the difficult paths. They believe in us and make us believe too! Then as we move along we have our friends and extended family to bless us furthermore. Our teachers, gurus, acquaintances envigorate and add up to our energy. And we keep moving ahead. Appreciation of any kind received, always brings positive results. To bring out the best in anyone we have to sow the seeds of encouragement. When we keep going, continue persuing our dreams and succeed, the look on the faces of people who said "keep it up", is priceless. We need to find something good in everydayy, instead of waiting for some...

My kids, my world!

Image
'Parenting', the most talked about topic today - we hear lectures, attend workshops, refer parents' guide, have counselling sessions, read articles. Why are we taking so much pressure of being a parent today? Our parents never were so particular for being ideal ones, we never saw them attending such workshops or even panicking with guilt if they missed one. As far as I am concerned, my parents were chilled enough to raise my sibling and me, well. They had their share of work pressures and tensions but we never witnessed a wrinkle on their forehead when it came to parenting. They were relaxed and calm when handling us. So what has changed today? The rat-race? The social media and the hype? The urge to be the best parents and have the most ideal kids? .... And how would you possibly determine an ideal parent? - One who provides anything and everything to the kids? Or one who is strict enough that the kids obey him? .... Whats the criteria? Parenting has becom...

A friend is for a lifetime!

Image
The greatest treasure of our lives is always a friend. You have friends, you have family, but then you have friends who become family. You dont have a friend for just 'in need' times or bad times, you have a friend for a lifetime! The problems in your life wont vanish, but when you have friends with you, these problems seem easy to overcome. Friends wont just discuss things with you they take interest and participate. Friend doesnt care about your broken fence but will instead admire and appreciate the flowers in your garden. Theres no status or class when it comes to making friends. A friend is a friend!  A friend reads between the lines and can know whats going on in your mind at a glance. You owe no explanations or need no excuses while communicating with your friends. Friend goes out of the way to help you. Brings out the best in you. Only a friend knows the 'insane' side of you. No matter how hurt you are, when you are with a friend, skies seem blue-...

Mirage!

Travelling in a hot desert....drenched in sweat...scorching sun...unbearable heat... and you see a Mirage! An illusion of water in a desert, an unrealistic hope, a wish that cant be achieved! Can this mirage be actually achievable? Can we set our dreams depending on a mirage? Dreams- hopes- wishes- all are based on our perception, also, a Mirage is a perception. If we already are stuck in a desert of ignorance our knowledge would then be just a mirage. If the desert is made of dreams and we still are going towards the mirage of reality - isn't it a pity? Is it a crime to be happy and excited to run behind a mirage? Can we not just enjoy the journey towards it, even though the destination is a mirage? We can keep fighting for a dream thats a mirage. We can strive hard to achieve it. Isnt it fun, chasing the unbelievable, sometimes? Life is all about chances, ifs and buts! Then why not be adventurous, once in a while? Why not take risks to hunt down whats impossible? I ...

Communication - not just blah! blah!

"Communication - the human connection - is the key to personal and career success".                                                                                                                           - Paul. J. Meyer. "People fail to get along because they fear each other, they fear each other because they dont know each other, they dont know each other because they have not communicated with each other".                                                                               ...
